Radio Seek and Scan

We like Sirius/Xm for good reception unless in a mountain canyon or at the base of a mountain South of you.

The "King" listens to "LOVE" channel 70 and I listen to 350 "Red White and Booze" while riding in the LongHorn. But when riding my HD I tune to 39 "Hair Nation", it fits!

All the tech on these trucks, and no scan. Go figure. I generally used it for the exact reason the OP stated. I enjoy satellite radio, but have not been willing to pay for it beyond the new truck demo. IF we start dragging the toy hauler around a whole lot more I may reconsider.

you have to ask them what kind of deal can you make me, then they say we can do 50% off normal price, i cancel the day before renew every year and then i ask what deal and i get same deal every year, but you have to ask to get deal

I believe you would need to push the seek button to stop the scan when a station is found

You will use some data, and obviously have to have cell coverage. The app is free thou.

It does appear the scan feature is no longer part of the programming for am/fm. It does appear to exist in XM thou.



Now that free streaming is included with the basic plan I feel a lot better about the subscription cost. I have the app on my phone and it's what I listen to in the shop, or in rental cars when I'm traveling for work. Work also hasn't shut down the xm site on our network so I can stream in the office too.

Without the streaming it would be much harder to justify.

iheartradio is an app you can put on your phone, and then stream via bluetooth/carplay/android auto.

AFIK Rush is not on XM.

Spotify is fantastic too. We have unlimited data on cell phone so we do podcasts and music on road trips. I couldnt see paying extta for Sirius. But there are a fewplaces in the mountains where cell coverage is non existent.

I love Spotify. I pay for the premium to avoid commercials. Even better with premium, you can download your playlists to your phone so if you lose LTE signal you're still rocking out in the canyons.

Yeah I think she pays a monthly deal for Spotify. We have massive playlists on phone. I use it when I am on building projects too. At the end of the year they make up a custom playlist based on what you listened to. I mean big brother is watching all kinds of ways...

Digging through the 12 inch screen manual it looks like the SCAN mode is no longer available. All that they show is SEEK to seek the next >>up/<<down channel, BROWSE to roll through the presets. Nothing to seek each available channel with a pause.

That said, here is a link to stations and times that broadcast Rush's programs:

This way you can directly punch in the AM or FM frequencies along your route.
Click on the "-" sign on the map to zoom out for a full view of available stations.
