Radio with gauge inputs

I just bought a 2001 for my wife and while driving home, the radio went out. I know about the lift pump problems and am considering other gauges. I love the Kenwood KDC-X489 in my old truck. Do you know of any stereo manufacturer who uses the front panel of the stereo for programmable gauges that read various temp and pressure imputs with programmable captions instead of useless kids graphics and other clutter? (I'm old) It sure would be quite a space saver and eliminate endless pods and other stuff. Maybe this already exists? This sure would be a nice option, if you have to pay for one, you could save on the others and it sure would be more effective and a lot neater installation.

i havent heard of anything like that but i like the idea maybe if we got enough people maybe a company would make one

Yes it does. Kenwood , alpine and I believe SOny have units out that can display speed , boost , egt , reverse camera , DVD , Nav , Oil Pressure , Maintenance log , etc.



Like the Pioneer Model AVICN2 for instance.

I would have to do some homework on finding the EXACT units. However you can expect a 2,000-2,500 dollar price tag tho. Most are in dash DVD players with 7" flip up screens.

I've got the AVIC N2. The guage options are an analog clock, actual speed (off GPS), acceleration, side acceleration, slope, voltmeter, and seems like I'm missing one. You can't plug in say an EGT or any other guage to the unit though.

my kenwood does its a model kdc mp728 and my kdc mp738

the 738 tells the names of songs on the radio and has the same things

tells g force acell few other things i dont really use them now i also have a kenwood tv and does the same but i had to buy a box from kenwood and give year make model of the car or truck to get to work plugs under the dash and you can do check engine lights boost oil temp trans temp mph coolent temp rpm 0-60 times gps costs $1200 i dont have model number cause it stuffed in my dash of my car.
