I have the 89 4x4 how can I tell if I can get the Two Joint Extreme-Duty Steering Shaft Assemblies from BORGESON on my truck

That's a good question, SCiocchetti. I am getting set to install their double u-joint shaft myself. I haven't tried yet, but looking at the existing rag joint, it appears to be slipped over a splined shaft similar to the steering gear stub at the other end of the stock shaft. I expect it will–with some resistance–come free to make way for the upper u-joint. Maybe someone with experience could chime in to verify…Since I expect a fight, I've been spraying it down periodically with PB Blaster, just to let it know I'm coming :D

He's got it right. If the shaft is splined then the rag portion just slips off after removing the rolled pin that holds it in place. It was hard to find the pin for mine because of all the built up garbage.

my opinion is its well worth replacing the rag joint.
