Well, my Ram (apparently) was built on the 11th, shipped on the 12th, and was in Laredo, TX on the 13th (coming from Mexico of course). I've got the rail car number (TTGX982898). The only thing is I don't know which railroad it is on. Is there a way to tell from that rail car prefix? It's going from Laredo up here to NY (Selkirk probably, that's the big rail yard around here).

Can't wait!

Oh, and for those wondering if there is some sort of restriction on the ETH/DEE. . Mine is one, I ordered the week before xmas, and it apparently was built pretty quick. #ad

I have been tracking there, and the other places listed on Dave Fritz's site. I guess my question is - does it matter which railroad it's on? Or is the tracking thing a nation-wide deal? If it's on BNSF, can I look it up on the UP site, or do I need to know that it's on BNSF and therefore use the BNSF site only?

Hope that was semi-clear.

<font color=blue>Couple of things, first off all DaimlerChrysler vehicles west of the Mississippi River are carried by Union Pacific. East of the Mississippi it can be carried by a number of different railroads. Secondly, sometimes you can crosstrack railcar numbers to other railroads but most of the time you can't. You'll need to find out the railroad handling your truck and track the railcar from their site. I can help with the UP stuff, but all the others kinda outta luck.

I think the vehicles shipped east of the Miss. are on CSX. You better ask your dealer,or call DC's 1-800 number.

It should be UPSP to St. Louis, and CSX (thats crash spill and explode) to Selkirk NY
Kat should be able to find the date the car was interchanged to CSX

Well I did some looking on your car number. <font color=blue>It appears as tho the UP hasn't recieved it from Mexico yet.

Load Arrived Vanegas, SL Jan 14 23:25 TFM

Its headed to Laredo, TX to be handed over to the UP, then it will travel and interchange with the CSX for the rest of its trip to NY.

Thanks for the help. I just tracked it again on UP and it finally had some real info. It looks like it was released from customs at 6:50am this morning, and is in Laredo. Progress. . #ad

Check out the link below, it might help pass some time. As you've already been told, well worth the wait.
