well I finally have some news on the rail pressure gauge availability. looks like I'll have gauges to ship on August 10.

Accordingly, I will be taking pre-orders in a few weeks for those who wish to to guarentee access to the first group of gauges that are available. These are the first group which I will QA/test myself before Pricol will release them to other retailers. For more info on the gauge itself, see the

rail pressure gauge web site

sorry for the treasure hunt/puzzle to come up with the email address. thats just a poor man's spam filter

In about another week I should have a firmed up price and delivery date. manufacturer's and suppliers have their own pricing and delivery challenges!

here is an idea for those who really want to study the behavior of fueling boxes, especially pressure boxes: hook up two rail pressure gauges: one on each side of the fueling box. You should be able to clearly see the rail pressure lies that the box is telling :).

Since the gauge is supplied with a rail pressure harness, no cutting or splicing is requried. here is the hookup:

block <-- gauge1 <--fueling box <-- gauge2 <-- factory rail pressure harness

gauge1 will read actual rail pressure; gauge2 reads fooled rail pressure coming from the fueling box. all plainly visible while you drive :)

DLeno-

I am also interested. I sent an email and no reply yet so I thought I'd try here. Please update with ordering info when you get a chance .

Thanks

we are about 3 weeks out. I'm handling the first batch, and its time to let me know if you want to be in the first group. I'll pm you.

I appologize for the poor mans spam filter on the web page. just take the underscore out of the email address that is posted there! thats it. here it is again:

-- email address removed --

when you remove the underscore you get dieselspecialtiesllc.com thats a poor mans spam filter so that I don't get automated junk.

I'm working directly with Di-Pricol on the release and the first batch of gauges is available directly from me.

Doug;

Let me know when ready. Standing by. Need to know rail pressure bad! I seem to be getting some fluctuation on the track and we're trying to pin it down for certain.

good news and bad news. the bad news is that we've had a ~ 2 week delay which means instead of August 10 it will be "during the week of August 21". I'm testing the first group myself. For those who have pre-ordered the gauges should ship during that week.

the good news is that things are a lot more firm now. I have good confidence in these dates now, although we all know how shipping times can vary...

what kind of price are we looking at for a white faced one and are there any special attachments to buy to hook it up with, or does it come with everything except a mount?

Its not really appropriate to discuss price here on the forums, but I can discuss details privately of course. send me a PM.

Things are really shaping up now. the kit is complete and I have tested the first two gauges. The only gauges that are made at this point are white face with either black or chome bezel. I am now working through the very first batch to guarentee that they work and are accurate. These are already spoken for...

So the delay is over and I am very pleased with the final product. Ran one on my truck just this morning and it behaved perfectly (both gauge and truck... ).

The gauge comes with two wiring harnesses:

1. rail pressure harness connects the gauge to the factory rail pressure sender. This guarentees that you hook into the rail pressure signal correctly. the install is much like a performance module or simple pressure box.

2. power/lighting harness provides very clean way to connect to 12v power and chassis ground.

the mount is not included of course, but there are no other attachments to buy in order to hook it up. you will need to route and secure wires, know how to use T-taps, locate and utilize a switched 12v source (usually on the steering column) and chassis ground. The kit makes it all easy; comes with T-taps, bullet connectors, wire, even a fuse and heat shrink tubing.
