Help! How much pressure is too much pressure on a 05 CTD?

I'd like a little more power on my stock automatic truck, so I'm looking at a standard Quad tow box or maybe a Puck to do this. I've been reading about all the issues that a lot of pressure may cause but I'm not sold on all the problems!

This subject is kind of like asking about a TC/VB upgrade, some say thats enough for a stocker and others say you gotta spend 5 grand no matter what your going to dowith your truck! I just don't buy that.

Any real insight would be appreciated.

I don't have the actual number in my head but if the rail pressure does get to high, even with occasion pressure spikes it can and will damage your injectors to the point of cracking them and diluting your oil with diesel.

Personally if I was to constantly use a pressure box i would upgrade the injectors first

I don't like pressure boxes, pressure will reduce the life of certain fuel system components, they may last along time though but long term reliability is my concern. If you add pressure it's harder on particulary the pump, injectors. For more power i would add a timing duration box or programmer like tst or the smarty. Yes these boxes, prgrammers do cost more but you get what you pay for.
