When they get etched or what ever makes them not work properly, how do they act?My truck is down on power as well as the pyro is down and boost also. I realize they are all related to fuel but I am not sure if it is the cp3 going weak, the relief valve, or a injector. It seems to have good power for a bit ,then fades. There is a bit of a stumble on top end as well. The pyro will not go past 1500 and usually pegs 1600 in only a few seconds. Lift pump(150 gph fass) is steady at 11 psi at wfo.

How about taking all the BOMB stuff out of the loop then check it??

From what I have read the pop off isn't designed for constant use, sort of like the one on your weater heater at home they start leaking once they popped.

I took the Quad program out and it seems to run smooth all the way through, just not as much power. It does make more boost and more pyro temp. I am assume this is because it is not running out of fuel as fast. The other option ( probably a long shot)is something was not write with the program this last time I put it in.

sporttruck, Did you get rid of the P-0251 code after replacing the pressure relief valve?

I was pulling a steep grade last week at a pretty good pace, the truck stumbled pretty badly and threw the P-0251 code. It has been running fine since, but I am now nervous as to what is going on... btw I am running the Volumizer box and I was on the #3 setting (100 hp), when this event happened.

If I have to replace the valve, is there anything I should be aware of? It looks to be in a good spot to get to.

Got a friend with a bone stock 03 auto. 5k ago started suring bad on cold start and constant surge at hot idle. sometimes on restart hot it sputters runs about 10 feet and stalls. Restarts easily. IF he runs a big dose of most any kind of diesel fuel treatment it clears up for the most part but withen a tank of fuel with out it starts the same deal all over again. Checked/replaced fuel filter seeveral times with nothing unusal in it. Checked lift pump by removing filter and seeing how fast it filled cannister. Less then 10 seconds. Is it possaby this valve? any photos of where it is on the pump and how to check it?

I thought that low rail pressure, created higher egt and smoke. Due to poor atomization of fuel and ecm increasing duration to compensate for the lack of pressure.

My rail pressure is low and the banjo on top of the relief valve leaks like a sieve, bad valve I have been told. When I add ANY duration my max egt goes from 1325 (TST on 1/1) to 1600 (TST 2/1) with very little increase in power tons more smoke though. The truck will hold the rail at about 19thou psi with TST 1/1 and about 15thou psi with TST2/1.

Bear in mind I am running injectors and no pressure. I am currently trying to decide if I want to buy a rail cap or another POS stock relief valve.
