Can anyone tell me, what if any sound does the relief valve makes when it operates? Is it steady or a clapping sound?

I have a very noticable clapping sound at certain throttle positions, sounds like it could be coming from my CP3. I am concerned I may be starving my CP3 for fuel or possibly my relief valve is letting loose. At first I believed it to be timing knock but now I am not sure of anything  .

The truck runs excellent but this loud clapping, slapping sound has me concerned. ANY IDEAS? Thanks in advance.

i'm guessing you cant hear the relief valve, at least I have never heard one...

Is it maybe just injector noise?

I thought at first it had to be the injectors, but just by the slightest increase or decrease in throttle I can start and stop the clapping, like a valve opening and closing or pulsating.

Going up to DTT on the 27th for transmission work, while they are test driving, maybe they will have an idea.
