For you guys running a rail pressure gauge, what type of reading are you getting under different load conditions. I'm just curious as to what is normal, and maybe looking at ways to increase it if required. Thanks all

I can't get mine over 23k with my injectors and at wot it drains the rail down to 10k. Other then that it reads pretty much the same under load or empty. Fairly linear tothe peddle.

IMHO, higher rail pressure is not the best way to increase power, but many have had success with it. I would look at new tips and a increase flow CP3. It costs alot more, but you get what you pay for. One of these days I'll get the Floor IT Diesel stage 3 cp3 and be able to use all of my trucks power.

I was just wondering what normal (which is relative i know... ) should be. Mine sits about 6000 at idle, jump to about 12000 after leaving a light (semi normally), and 18-21000 on full throttle.

Mine is about the same. 6000 at idle, about 12000 driving down the road and as high as 20000 wide open with the trailer to get it moving. I just put a new CP3 pump on and that only took about 30 minutes from on top and thru the inner fender well. Used a 27 TORX 1/4 inch drive with a 4' extension. Put the old one in the tool box. I cut the old plastic line off the pump and the pump intake is the same size as the hose in the kit. Next time will be easier.

Mine is 6000 idle, 15,000 - 17,000 driving, 23,000 + WOT

It seems to be more load dependeant then rpm to me (but rpm is a factor)

I read that the 4. 5 + motors have higher average psi then the 03-04 motors

I'm not sure what pressure I'm running my scan tool reads only in Killopassatles (KPA) at idle I'm reading around 51,450 KPA at idle and around 23,500 KPA at highway speed. The engine runs strong only it starts to mis-fire when running at fast idle (2500) in nutural. These numbers sound normal???

05 Ram 6 speed all stock

I get the same with about 22,6xx at WOT. My gauge is really "busy" as it displays all the digits and refreshes fairly rapidly.
