Rail yard delays!!! Anyone else have these problems?

My truck has been on the ground since Wed. 4/2/03 20 miles from the dealership. The fleet sales manager says that they haven't received it yet because DC has to do some inspection before delivery. He doesn't have any idea as to when they will do this inspection.

First of all, does anyone know what this inspection is all about. I would have hoped that they inspected the truck at the factory before it left. Secondly, out of those of you that tracked your truck, how long did it take the dealer to get the truck after it was unloaded off the train?

Any help would be great. Thanks in advance for anything you can offer.

My friend truck been at the rail yard for over a week in N. J. . DC has a hold on them for quality inspection.

It took 4 days for mine to leave the rail yard after the train reached its destination.

Don't remember the exact time line, but it took forever to arive after it was shipped and then it showed up with the dash ripped off and the sterio radio missing. Happens on the rail cars when their sidlined. Took about another week or ten days to get a new radio and dash bezel. My understanding that I was lucky that truck showed up with only that much damage.

Mine sat in Houston for a week after it was unloaded!



The upside was that, during its "vacation", the dealer managed to con DC into approving the Jake Brake installation! Oo. Oo. Oo.

Ditto with the frustrating delay... ours sat for almost 3 weeks after getting to the railyard, hang in there!!

Mine has been on the ground and in the yard since March 31st, dealer has received 2 loads since that date, hope to see my new truck this Wednesday april 9th. By the way April 1st was 4 weeks since order was put in, was told 10 - 12 weeks, nice surprise.
