My truck is a 93 D350 CC, white with 60,000 miles on it. Purchased it (with a Elkhorn 11Z truck camper) two years ago from the original owner. I have noticed rust in the rain gutters, very obvious with the white paint. Has anyone else experienced the same problem and is there a preferred method of eliminating it?

My 93 STD cab had rust on the rain gutters near each top corner of the windshield. Right at the spot where the gutters were joined together by a soft metal clip. I pryed open the clip leaving it still attached at the bottom, cleaned out all the rust, primed with rustoleum rusty metal primer, reformed the clip, resealed and repainted the rain gutter and clip assembly. I am always interested in other areas to look for the dreaded rust as reside in NJ, home of the salt truck.

This is another common Dodge truck problem. Have had to repair a few of these. The rain gutter is attached to a flanged seam where the roof and window frame are spot welded together, then sealed with plenty of seam sealer. This is a common area to find serious rust problems, if you find rust here check the area under the rain gutter covered by the windshield rubber. Also check inside above the seal as well, my 79 was badly rusted there. I have my current truck oil sprayed every fall, and so far don't have any rust. The company that sprays my truck, Krown Rust, sprays under all the trim and around the window seals. They use a product that displaces water, it is also used in aviation aplications. It's a bit messy but worth it.
