When it's raining the beads run off and wipers not needed. Soon as you get a mist and then wipe it's a film left. NO-BUENO for me.

Can’t say I’ve ever experienced that with a proper application. I’ve been applying rain-x longer than I’ve been driving.
 
I always put rainx on all of my helicopter wind screens in the military, worked great! Of course this was direct application, no squirters ;)

We did that on 64’s that were horrible for airflow over the windshield and even worse with wipers on.

Haven’t had to on the 60’s, the water rolls off most the time and the wipers actually work :D
 
It seems like the problem was specific to the material that Ram's sensors were made out of, and they have since updated the sensors....if I remember correctly.

I was told (don't know first hand) that Pilots would freak if somebody wiped their windshield in a circle or side to side. Vertical is the only way, or so I was told.
