Trailer Tires???

Has anyone raised their 5er to gain enough clearance for a 2500 4x4? The axles on the 5th wheel have already been moved up, but it isn't enough. Any suggestions?

Thanx

This has been a frequently discussed topic. If you've flipped your axles and still have clearance problems, then you need to lower your truck. Can't tell you how, other than others have done it. I think DC actually has a kit. Myself, I bought a new 5er. They seem to be doing a better job of designing them now for 4X4's. I'm sure someone else will jump in with advice on this one.

Good luck!

Don't know how much you need, but my wifes cousin added an air bag system to his. He has the compressor & gauges all on the trailer and gets around two inches lift. The nice thing is after he unhooks then you can lower it back down so it's easy to get in it. Not sure who makes the system though except the gauges are firestone.

RAISING 5TH WHEEL

There is a co. that make a channel iron that raises your 5th wheel. I have the info somewhere if I can find it! Maybe someone will come on site with it. I'll keep looking also. I think I'm going to have to raise my trailer also!. Just haven't got that far yet. jps

RAISING 5TH WHEEL

The info I was looking for to raise fith wheel is called a adjustable jake plate. Made by Leland Engineering @ White Pigeon,Michigan. 800-669-7681 is ph. lelandengineering.com is suppose to be e-mail address. I don't think address worked for me the other day. Try it to see if it works for anyone else! jps I have not contacted them yet so no prices!

I knew I could count on you guys!

I'll try all the advice, until I find a solution. I like the way these trucks sit, but it sure makes 5ver towing difficult.

Thanx again
