GM and Ford are crying foul on the 1-2-3 grid

WANTED: The Piers videos...

But it's not even a diesel, it's a V-10... just my opinion, but I wouldn't want my ignorance of the proper engine #ad
for that truck proclaimed for all the world to see...
The owner lives in California, fuel prices there are higher than anywhere else, and he's driving a truck that gets , what, about 6 mpg in stock form? But it's not stock...
Of course, I'm not saying anything new y'all can't figure out for yourselves.
Truth be told, I actually feel sorry for the guy, he has no idea how much fun he's missing out on, not having a Cummins Turbo Diesel in that truck...
I've let my subscription to FourWheel & OffRoad expire, and I'll be letting this one (Four Wheeler) expire, too. Their obvious bias against Dodge and diesels is just too much. It kinda hurts, I've subscribed to it ever since it was started as "Pickup, Van, And 4WD", and had Granville King writing for them, in the 1970's...

Briar,

We can thank GM for turning the word "Diesel" into a four letter word. To this day people will say "you bought a diesel... yuk". Its lack of education, and GM destroying the reputation of auto & light truck diesel power in the U. S.

Tom M, Im with you. Four Wheeler and Off Road magazine's pages are a disgrace. They haven't printed anything worth reading since the late 70's,thats when I quit those two. And California, what do you expect. A good one to read is Peterson's 4wheel and Offroad magazine.

You guys remember about 3 or 4 months ago when they had that red durango on the cover, I took that guy down to that shoot so they could do my truck, they said it would be in for sure. I have yet to see it. The funny part was Christian Hazel was to photographer and both of us started doing some "wheeling" that guy tried to do some of the basic stuff next to the road and they though it was going to tare itself a part from the tires rubbing. We all laghed at what was a pretty and usless 4x4. I did some good stuff through the rock course and at one point had one of my rear tires about 4 feet off the ground. It was fun. but worthless. I guess my truck wasnt pretty enough to make the mag even thow I was making 3 times the power to the ground 90% of the trucks in there and acctually use mine, as you can see in issue #31 and at semi local mud bog series, I didn't loose one last year, even thow I was running against nos injected bbc's and fords.
Oh well. I guess the readers of those mags will never know what a real diesel is capable off. #ad

Briar Hopper, I have boxes of old PV4 mags
in my attic from the late 70's. It was a
great mag and I loved to read Granville's
writings and his ol dog (forget his name).

Too bad that black dually doesn't have a real
engine in it; I just got thru looking at
that article an hour ago at a bookstore. Nice
truck!

Superdawg was his name, I think.

I have Granvilles Jeep book and the thing cracks me up every time I look at it.

Since when has it been a requirement that the cover truck on a 4wd mag actually be capable of using 4wd? The best mag out at this time, IMO, is 4wd & SUV. They target mostly Jeeps but I don't have a real problem with that #ad
