ISB Fuel Pump Recall is Official

Saw a Ram 4000 today, had Mexico plates on it with a cargo box on the back. Couldn't tell what the engine was, no badges and I had the windows down on the 1st Gen so I couldn't hear much. Anybody got info on these, do they come with a 5. 9? I take it this was one of those international not available in the U. S. things.

i saw one in '97 in birmingham, ala. i think it just has the 5. 9hd gasser, maybe the 5. 2 also?5spd/4spd auto, esentially the same as the 3500 just the mex. version. no ctd.

dt

holy cow!glad you posted this. . back around the end of may,my wife and i took a trip to coszumel mex. we were walking down the street in the down town area when a second gen dodge flat bed dually past buy us. i dont know wether it had 4wd or not but it sit up like one. on the side of the truck it had dodge 4000 or [4500 maybe] and a v8 gas logo. oh yea,it was painted kinda olive drab green...

when i went to mexico a while ago i was looking through a magazine and i saw a dodge ad when the slogan was Dodge. Different. and they had medium duty trucks but for the life of me i can not find anything about them they were pretty sweet looking about the size of a topkick or an F750 i wish i could find something about them

This one sat up much higher than my 91 4x4, couldn't see a exhaust pipe on it though. It looked just like a 3500 drw but had "Ram 4000" on the side and was white. Almost followed the guy, probably will next time until he reaches the border.

...4000

Scott, i saw a 4000 with a white box chassis a couple times coming up from Laredo but it had 2 rear axles {double set of dually's}. My guess is it had a Cummins {12valve} in it, those motors are popular as heck down there in Messy-Co... at least the industrial Cummins painted olive drab color.

I saw a picture in a magazine a few years ago of a medium duty Dodge, like a F650 or F750 size. If I remember it had 20" split rims or something backward like that. Cool looking truck though. I saw a second gen body RamCharger in Colorado in '99, it had Mexican plates. Another Mexico only item. Just as well, they weren't available in 4X4.

Travis. .

They have these down in Columbia also. I remember seeing a 2nd gen dump truck with 20 inch split rims in Medellin back in '98 or '99. The cab was raised about 6 inches and there was a color-coordinated sheet metal panel between the lights/grille and bumper. Don't know what kind of motor was in it.

In mexico it looks like the 2500 are our 1500

thier 4000 is a 3500 DR with the bed off option.

Im not seeing the cummins option?

In San Diego recently I saw a 3rd gen. 4000 with 4door and pickup bed with Cummins logo. It had the full Tijuana pack about 20' high with old mattress and washing machines.

LOL, see this all the time, so much crap in the back that the bumpers almost on the ground and the rearend of the truck fishtails. I just stay away from them, most probably don't have insurance.

Found this sharp looking Ram 4000 at Cardatabase.net:

Apparently this was taken in Monterrey, NL, Mexico in March, 2005. Wish there were closeups from the front.
