The original hitch was unbolted and is now sitting on my garage floor, intact, with all the original mounting hardware. When I get one of those "roun tuits" I intend to see what I can get for it.
Once the rear bumper was off, it was cake to unbolt the hitch. The only trick is that you have to remove the last 2 bolts on the bed and loosen the front 2 and lift the bed a little to accomplish the task. That wasn't hard, it was just work.
