Nice tag David. Of course, imitation IS the most sincere form of flattery!



The original hitch was unbolted and is now sitting on my garage floor, intact, with all the original mounting hardware. When I get one of those "roun tuits" I intend to see what I can get for it.



Once the rear bumper was off, it was cake to unbolt the hitch. The only trick is that you have to remove the last 2 bolts on the bed and loosen the front 2 and lift the bed a little to accomplish the task. That wasn't hard, it was just work.

Ah, thanks for clearing that up. I was under the truck last weekend, glanced at the hitch, and thought it might be welded on. Guess I didn't look close enough.

I want to keep my hitch factory, it does just fine in terms of weight limits.



I want looks more than anything...



by the way, 2 message on the recorder, and still no calls back from the guy, looks like no answer = no insurance



final though ---- GLAD I WAS IN A RAM!!! - My little neon would have been toast, heck i may not be typing this today.

If that's what you want, there are lots "heavy duty looking" bumpers around. I'd call a local truck performance shop or two and ask what theyv'e got.



I also think the factory hitch would work with the Ruenel if you wanted. It'd save you $50 on the price of the bumper too.
