Ram installed in servers

We got the additional Ram installed in the servers tonight. The only time I could arrange to get someone there to change them out was during the evening hours and so the site was down for approximately 5 minutes from ~9:53-9:58pm eastern time. I'll probably have to do some additional tuning on the MySQL server but most of the performance issues should be taken care of now. I'll be monitoring things closely.

No, but the building they are in has em in the basement . The buildings generators are Cummins powered (14 of em) - with 12,000 gallons of diesel onsite to run em on!

Remember the days before the intenet (yes, there was a time in the olden days) where you had to dial-in to a BBS, and it could only handle 1 caller at a time, and it was long distance if the BBS was out of town? Oh yea, 300 or up to 1200 baud too.

I still remember being the envy of the computer users group because my 300 baud modem plugged into the wall instead of sticking the phone handset down on top of it.

I ran quite a few of those BBS's klenger. I wrote the first BBS program for the VIC-20 and the C-64. Does anyone remember VICtory BBS software? That was mine. I also ran a TRS-80 BBS for a while. The TRS-80 one I wrote and ran was quite advanced in it's day - TWO people could be logged on at once and could chat with each other!! LOL My first modem was a 110 baud on an acoustic coupler. I can remember when I got 1200 baud and thought it was overkill because it was hard to read the text that fast! :-laf
