New Truck! 2500 vs. 3500

Hello All,

I haven't posted much in the last couple years, so a brief "how's it goin'" to any that remember me. Anywho, I thought I'd post some results of my long term reliability testing on the Rams in my small fleet;

- 2003 3500 DRW 305/555 NV5600 - 100,000 kms, used for semi-regular towing/hauling up to around 20,000 lbs GCVW. Repairs required (other than wear items); cracked marker light, A/C compressor, ball joints

- 2004 2500 SRW 600/NV5600 - 80,000 kms, used for work; usually a lightly loaded condition with some towing on a weekly basis. Repairs; lift pump at 60,000

- 2006 3500 SRW 610/G56 - 85,000 kms, similar useage to the '04. Repairs; none although the one backup light stays on sometimes.

Overall I'm very pleased with the Ram trucks and purchased another one yesterday, a 2008 3500 SRW with the 6. 7 and 68RFE. I can only hope it performs as well as the others.

I had to laugh when I looked at the topics being discussed today. The more things change, the more they stay the same. DW and 2500 vs. 3500 are still hot topics I see.

Cheers,

Dave Pelletier

Hi Dave, nice to hear from you again.

And nice to see your trucks have served you well. Does that 2003 still have the original filter-mount lift pump?

No injector replacements on any of these trucks? That's good.

Ryan

Thanks guys.

Hi Ryan, nice to chat with you again.

Yes all the trucks are bone stock with the exception of guages and a Smarty for the '03. No injector problems at all (knocking on simulated wood!)

Cheers,

Dave
