Just saw this on my local news site: Fiat Chrysler recalls nearly 1.8M trucks for shifter problem
That's odd... only automatics have the "brake-transmission shift interlock device".I got a notice also. I didn’t realize this involved manual transmissions.
The company says the brake-transmission shift interlock device can fail due to long-term exposure to high interior temperatures linked to an electrical problem. That can let the shifter move out of park without the brake pedal being pressed or without a key in the ignition. The problem increases the risk of the trucks rolling away accidentally.

Is the brake pedal switch that deactivates the cruise control and activates the brake lights on the manual trans trucks the same as the switch on the automatics?
