hey guys tonight i was going to put fuel in i was really low the low fuel light had been on for about 30 miles so i stopped at the fleet farm and of course the place is closed and the credit card part says that it does not work so i continue down the highway and as i am accellerating from 3rd to 4th gear the truck bogs down a little dosent die but i lost some power i found a service station about 2 miles up the road and nursed her in and i filled up it took 33 gallons and the manual states my tank is 35 gallons im wondering if i did any damage to the truck i never fully ran out of fuel it never died on me just bogged down a bit on the way home everything seemed normal and it had excellent accelleration thanks guys sorry for the long post

It isn't much different than turning off the key. Only difference is, you don't have to prime the system when you shut the engine down with the key.

You can run it completely dry and cause no damage. In fact, it will usually start without having to prime the system. It takes a couple of pauses to let the starter cool down but it WILL start. Lots of rock and roll for a few seconds when it starts until it smooths out. No damage. Just another one of the big advantages to having a P7100 mechanical injection pump.

the reason you only took 33 gal and 35 is the foam from filling up. when ever you put fuel in your truck it will bubble up. if you give it a few seconds you can continue fueling.
