<font color=blue>Ok I go for BFG A/T KO 285/75r/16 tires tommorrow and figured good excuse to upgrade my shocks.

I am getting Rancho 9000's at the same time and would like to know what settings y'all use front and rear? I run empty 99% of the time. Please provide me something to go on.

Thanks.

Kat, you can always start at setting number 5 and work your way down #ad

Just don't listen to those 12 valve guys, you know they'll lie!!!!!!!!!

I also run empty most of the time and have mine set at 4 on the front and 3 on the rear. The ride is a little stiff, but the truck handles great. Far better than the stock shocks.

I use #2 in the front and #1 in the rear empty. #2 in the front and rear when towing a 2500 lb boat. #3 in the front and #5 in the rear with the camper loaded.

Your butt will tell you what to use for your own rig.

Kat ...

Get the in cab adjustable set-up ... you'll be gald you did! I adjust mine frequently. When I want a nice soft ride to the restaurant with a babe in the rig, I use 1 front and 1 rear ... nice soft ride ... normally around town 2 front 1 rear ... when I want to play 3 front 2 rear ... when towing my RV 4-5 rear and 3-4 front. The in cab system is the way to go!!!

<font color=blue>Thought about it, but well don't wanna pay for that yet and I don't like the way the controls look (I am picky about the interior of the truck). In a year or a year and half when I lift the truck 5" I will need new shocks anyhow so I will try it without it for now... and then maybe then I will add the in cab controls #ad

KatDiesel, I prefer front shocks on setting #3, and the rear shocks on #2(when empty). I set the rear shocks on #3 when towing 6000lb travel trailor. These Rancho shocks work great!

<font color=blue>Welp I got the Rancho 9000's on all four are set on #3 for now. It makes an immediate difference!!

The place I was getting the tires from didn't get them today like they promised me they would. So I guess I'll wait on the tires, I got other stuff to buy anyhow #ad

Only 7,000 miles on the current tires.

Thanks for the input! Gonna drive around with it in #3 for a while see if I notice a difference then proably try the rear on #2.

Can't believe I waited 7000 miles to change the factory shocks!

You just putting those tires in without any lift or a little 2" in front?? I ask as I am wondering about the 9000's and the size shock if I do the 2" frontal coil lift.

<font color=blue> Well I wanted to "level" the truck but I haven't found a product I like yet. My local truck store says their is a "new product" convention in a month and half, so they suggested I wait until then to see what comes out. I did not put the tires on due to the fact the tire store said they would have them, but they didn't come through. And after looking at my rockers while washing the truck I was horrified at the rock chips I have. So I think the tires are gonna wait until I get "Flaps" also going to paint the bottom portion of the truck hopfully soon #ad
(Ramkids??)

I was planning on installing those tires without any kind of lift at this time.

If you level the truck you "might" need a different shock but I am not positive. But the Rancho's are awesome

Would someone tell me approx. what a front set of Rancho 9000 cost. Where can you get them at a reasonable price?
What are the alternative brands that are comparable?
I am looking at improved ride. Thanks

Ok heres what I have found :
National Tire and Wheel $60. 95 a piece x 4 = 243. 80 (Does NOT include shipping) National Tire and Wheel 1-800-847-3287

4 Wheel Parts Wholesalers $263. 95 ($65 a piece) for 4 shocks (Free shipping) 4Wheel Parts wholesalers 1-800-421-1050

Desret Rat $263. 95 ($65 a piece) for 4 shocks (Free Shipping) Desert Rat Truck Center (800)528-3402

I paid $70 a piece for mine here at a local truck shop because I wanted them "now"

I have got wind of possible group purchase on the Rancho 9000's so hang tight a couple of days.

Eldebrock shocks are also supposed to be comparable, but I can't comment on them since I didn't try them. They are more exspensive then the Rancho's usually.
