Hi,

I had a set of RS-9000's installed last week and the mechanic thought it would be a good idea to place the adjustment knob facing the rear axle for protection. Plus, he though another wonderful idea would be to throw away the paperwork that came in each box.

Since I can't see the adjustment knob easily, does the knob have a pointer that I might be able to feel? What position is 1? 5? Is 3 straight up? Should the knob be able to turn continuously in any direction, going from position 5 to 1 with a single click?

Thanks.

Hal

#1 - Soft = full counter-clockwise.

#5 - Firm = full clockwise.

All settings are obtained with exactly one revolution of the knob, a quarter revolution between adjacent settings. The knob has four raised pointers spaced 90° apart on its circumference. These pointers are not really necessary. Starting in the full counter-clockwise position you should be able to do four 90° turns clockwise, feeling a detent after each 90° turn. Settings #1 and #5 will have the knob in the same relative position.

Hal,

I mounted mine facing the axle for protection and I have no trouble "feeling" the location of the dial. I usually step them back to setting 1, then count the clicks forward to 3 or 4 depending on my load. The shafts tend to freeze after a long period of disuse, so it is a good idea to lube them and rotate them once a month.

Thanks Thomas and Dave. Regardless of everyone elses opinions, the RS's are a tremendous improvement over the OEM shocks!
