When putting the 2. 5" Skyjacker coils in the front of my truck I found that my front RS9000 shocks are worn out after 80,000 miles of abuse. I bought mine locally through an off road shop and paid a bit more than off the net because I knew I wouldn't have problems with getting them warrantied. I also found after putting the lift on that I am in fact bottoming out the shocks some so I needed longer ones. I went into the shop yesterday to see what could be done and they told me about a Ranch exchange offer that expires the end of this month. You can exchange your 5 position RS9000's for 9 position RS9000x's for $25/ea. In addition to the extra positions they have also added a compression bump stop inside the shock so there is some extra protection in there in case of bottoming them out. The shop I work with is exchanging out my stock length ones for the longer 2" lift ones that I need for the same price (one of the reasons I support them with purchases on many items even if they are a bit more expensive). The offer is only good through the end of this month (January) so you don't have much time to act on it. I'm not sure that every shop will honor it either but it's worth a try if you're interested.

Rancho upgrade

I'm going to try a check out a few shops in my area to see if they will honor the exchenge. For that price, I'll also go for it.

I'll let you know!

Steve,

Checked with a few shops in my area. Evidently this is a local deal that your shop has with their warehouse. One of the outfits I use called their Ranchero representative who stated that he was not aware of any such program. I'm still waiting for two more replys, but I doubt that I'll get a different responce.

At least I tried!!!

Seems to me that since the RS9000's are warrantied for life that Rancho would have to give you the upgrade for free since they are no longer made?

Steve, I had my front rancho RS9000 swapped out under warranty and they were upgraded to the SX's for 5 bucks apiece, since they are under a limited lifetime warranty. I bought mine at Sam's OffRoad in Tulsa, Ok.
