Anyone running RS9000's on a 2500? Just curious about the ride, as I am thinking about installing a set on my 2001.

Thanks!

<font color=blue>I gott'em. Yes they are an improvement. I have a 4x4 tho so not sure how much of an improvement you'll see vs mine.

I love'em. I would say replace the stockers when ya can. You'll notice an imediate improvement. Currently I run with all mine set on #3. Gonna change it up see what I like.

Rancho 9000's are great shocks! Empty I use setting #3 for fronts and #2 for rears. Towing a bumper pull travel trailor I use setting #3 all the way around. Having the adjustabilty works well for my application. #ad

I sure like the 9000's on mine. I needed something stiffer when I have the camper on, and I can still get a good ride empty.
I run 3 front and 4 rear loaded & 2 front and 1 rear empty.

Go for it Evan. I've got experience with the Rancho 5000's & the 9000's on the extended cab lwb. The 5000's are way to stiff for me. I set the front on 3 & the rear on 1. #ad
I'll probably click up the rears when the 5'er sits on them. I put them on about 58k mi. The truck was 'wallowing' over the hwy dips & bumps. Not now. I'd describe all 4 corners now as as firm & shure footed. #ad

Evan;
A buddy of mine installed a set on his 4x4 and loves them. He has driven them on everything from dry pavement to deeply rutted trails. (Hey Joe. If you joined you could post too!!)

If I remember, you have a 4x2 same as me.

I put KYBs Gas-a-Adjust all the way around shortly (the night before and in the dark) BD Dyno Days. They are a vast improvement over the factory sloshers. The factory units actually sloshed when I shook them! The KYBs are very good, but not perfect. The KYBs would be excellent if the front springs were a tad bit stiffer. I would love to try the new Mono-Max or a set of Bilsteins on the front with the current spring rates.

A buddy of mine with a 4x2 Ford also installed KYBs. He says they're OK unloaded, but with the trailer are too soft. He also has the twin I-beam tire eater suspension.

Come to Rob's next Saturday and you can test drive my truck. Gotta tighten up the steering sector, too.

Cheers;
*JE*

Towing I have the rears on #4. front #3 with 5thwheel grossing 18,xxx. Excelent firm ride and handeling on and off road. M/t I keep the front on #3 and the rears on #1, same fine ride. I put mine on at 10k miles as the stock shocks were way to soft for towing. when I got them off they were so soft you could play them like an accordion.

Hey guys on the Ranchos where is the dial located to set the adjustment? I am currently running Skyjacker Nitro's.

A little FYI for you fellow rustbelters out there:
Install the remote adjusters! (at the least, remove the knobs and grease them) If you don't salt water will wick past the o-rings just about the time your warantee runs out and they will no longer be adjustable. I had to replace 2 just before the warrantee ran out. Other than that, I love 'em.
GP: the adjuster knobs are on the side of the bottom. Not too hard to adjust as thaey can be reached through the springs in the front.

"Warrantee? We don't need no stinking warrantee!"

The Rancho's claim to have a lifetime warranty! Anyway, I used to have them on my Grand Cherokee, and I LOVED them. I'm just waiting for my current shocks to go belly up, as well as the usual Rancho Buy 3 Get 1 Free Sale. I have heard that the in-cab controller is a waste of money (leaks, etc. )
YMMV

Evan, I put the ranchos 9's on at about 3000mi. I know have 67,000 and they are great. If you tow or load your truck you'll love the ability to adjust the firmness. I like them when running empty as well. we live next to the sierra nevada mountains and most of the roads around here are steep and curvy, the shocks make a big dif. in the way the truck handles. i would reccommend them and don't wait till the factory ones wear out!
