I called to get new shocks today, and was told that Rancho doesn't make an adjustable shock for the 8800 gvw. My truck is a 2001 2500 4x4, can someone shed some light on this, maybe a part number that is correct, also steering stabilizer, and your . 02 about these shocks.

Thanks in advance.

Nick

In the rs9000x supplement, it says all except trucks with the snow plow prep package. Why would this be? When I read the application guide, it is not all that clear, and I have that snow plow package, but why would that matter?

Nick

Can't comment on the snow plow prep package issue, but I would bet that it doesn't make a difference. There isn't a Rancho steering stabilizer for our trucks (at least there wasn't when I checked last). I love the shocks and the 9000x's should be considered mandatory equipment for heavy loads (like slide-ins).

Who told you that they don't make 9000x's for 8800 gvwr trucks? Someone less than completely informed, no doubt!

Dave

My mechanic who is installing these said he called the rancho help line to get the part number, and the guy told him you couldn't put these on a 8800 truck, but I know people here have them and like them, so away I go.
