Rancho does not show the 01 rams in thier books so I got a steering stabilizer for a 99 thinking it would be the same but there not. The tapered stud mount that goes on the tierod is to short to get the castle nut on.

Has anyone succeeded in mounting one of these on a 2000 and up without using the generic clamp mount that comes with some kits? I've opened the whole kit up so unless I can fit it on I'm stuck with it. The OEM stud is not useable as its pressed onto the old stabilizer.

I know this doesnt answer your question. Skyjacker makes a 7218 Dual Stabilizer. I put this on my truck, works great.

H. O. Ram- Did putting on the dual stabilizer setup help the wander that we have?Don't want to buy a AGR steering box if I can help it.

I put an RS5000 stabilizer on my 2001, but here's the thing... I had to use the hardware from a Pep Boys cheap-o brand stabilizer to make it fit.

I won't go into detail as to how I acquired that part. #ad

And no, it didn't help the wander any. But it sure looks cool. #ad

How in the world did you get the shock off? Thats the tightest fit on the truck.

Hey Blackcloud,
Sorry about the delay, inlaws in town.

The stabilizer did help. Heres a couple of other adjustments I have made:

Adjust the caster on your lower links. You will be rotating the lower part of your axle forward. Loosen the bolts, then turn both sides to the same mark. I have both of my forward to about the second mark forward.

Second I took my truck in had the toe set to specs for a baseline. Then I came home and adjusted the toe in an 1/8 to a 1/4 in.

Next, on top of the steering box there is a allen screw with a lock nut on top. Insert a allen wrench in the screw as your backup then use your wrench break the locknut loose, tighten the allen screw 1/4 turn tighten and test drive. If you get it too tight, you can adjust to the amount of responsive. It took me a few tries.

If you replace your links with aftermarket links that have urethane bushings that will tighten the front end.

Next is a aftermarket trac bar.

A quality set of tires.

Truck drives great.

I had my truck with all stock components driving without a wonder.

I DID NOT BUY IT THAT WAY, LISTEN UP D. C.

Sorry Blacksmoke, just had to vent.

Check sig for improvements. #ad

I used a pittman arm puller, but someone from the TDR posted about using 2 large hammers - one on the backside held against the shock eye and one in front to wack it. Apparently it causes a deflection of the eye and pops the bugger right off the tapered stud.
