Very nice. They were a piece of cake to install :D . The only thing I would buy is a sharp drill bit. No frustration with this install. Unbolt your spring u-bolts one side at a time and bolt up the new plate then line up the front bracket drill, bolt it up and your done. These bars follow the same angle as the diveline. I would recommend these. The truck seems to track better and I dont feel all the imperfections in the road :cool: . I picked these up at under 3 bills.

I have spent my camera money on the truck. Maybe I can have the wife ask someone at work if they have one I can borrow. I was out and about today. These bars are awesome. :cool:

Try this---> http://www.gorancho.com/traction.htm

Also check out the dual shock (R5000s) steering stabilizer kit. I have this setup on my '96 - makes a noticeable difference and is also very stylish. :cool:

BTW, I got this stuff at Desert Rat in Albuquerque. Prices have been as good or better than anywhere else. These guys really know what they're doing and are polite, and fast. The best part about Desert Rat is that (so far) the installs have been free with the purchase. Beside the dual steering stabilizer, I've had them put on R9000 shocks (great) and BFG All-Terrains (also great), which they rotate fer nuttin every 5K miles. I think there's another Desert Rat in Arizona.

I just installed a set of the Rancho bars this past week and am very impressed with them. For an off the shelf bolt on part they work well. I upgraded to 5/8" u-bolts while I was at it which required a little work with a round file. Accelerating from a stop and 1-2 shift doesn't have the "jello" feeling anymore and runs smoother on the road too. One thing I did find out was to use the middle length bar ( I think it was 55 3/4") as opposed to the long (58") bar that Rancho list for the Dodge if you have a shortbox quadcab. The long bars will push the mounting bracket up in contact with the body mount. Fortunately I had measured before purchasing. I'll take pictures tomorrow and give a go at posting them.

Hi GKR, I would take and post pictures if I had a camera. Its good to here you like them. I am very pleased with mine.

Just a side note for you 3500 guys, the plates that bolt to the u bolts will not fit, the axle housing is larger and the plates will have to be modified. You will need to move the holes diagonally . 300 on each hole or out to the corners. Other than that they work real well.

Heres another trick I learned from a guy that has done a lot of these, reverse the brackets on the bottom of the axle so that the bars are to the outside for guys that have sway bars and it will give you more clearance. That is put the left on the right and right on the left.

One question for you guys that have these bars or any others, how well will they or the suspension work when the rear end is 3" lower after hooking up to a heavy trailer? Does rancho still make the kicker shocks?

PHuckleberry,

There is a truck up here with a 4 1/2" lift with these bars. He carries a huge camper and tows his enclosed 25' car trailer with no problem.

No problems here when the 3 k of tongue weight from my 5th wheel is hoked up. I bought mine from Randys Off Road there # is 360-659-5259. I have bought a few sets and he will UPS them no problem, nice guy to talk with as well.
