Raptor pump no power out of relay

No the tan is still plugged in to the old lift pump harness. I didn’t change anything.

There should not be power on the yellow unless you bumped the starter.

Put everything back to original wiring. Check the red wire past the fuse to make sure you have 12vdc available to the relay. Have your meter ready to check power on yellow to ground. Bump the starter, you will have 30 seconds to check that yellow.

When you turn the key on the pump will run briefly, less than 5 seconds. If you bump the starter it will run 30 seconds. If the engine runs the pump runs continuosly.

Alright this is what I’ve determined. The red wire to the relay is live when the key is on just like before. The yellow wire is now also hot as soon as the key is on for a few seconds and then it doesn’t have power anymore (which seems correct) I don’t have any Power at the test light on the tan wire while cranking it. I used a test light before the meter to even determine if there was power there while cranking.

I’m pretty sure the ECM is overall ok, the truck just fired.

Yeah, you will not have power while cranking but after letting go of the key or turning the key off the pump runs for 30 seconds. So the pump ran and the engine now runs ?.

Normal, the relay does not energize during cranking and the pump does not run. If the engine starts relay energizes and pump runs. If the engine does not start the relay stays energized and pump runs for 30 seconds then it all shuts down.

I’m pretty sure the engine ran on residual fuel in the lines. The pump did not run. The pump motor was warm/hot to touch but definitely not running.

Your new pump coming tomorrow ?. If the pump was warm it is probably locked up. Best to wait for replacement.

Did you check the ground wire for the pump for continuity?

If you hard wired it - it must run, pop the fuse or just burn up.
One of this 3 will happen that way, IF the circuit is intact.

Glad to hear it works now. Anyhow strange that the pump did so suddenly.
