Diagnostic Scan Tool-Innova vs. Actron

I was wondering now that the RASP fuel system has been out for a while, how do you like it? Are there any problems anyone is having with the system? Overall how do you like it and would you buy it again?

I love mine. It has been great. I have had one seal go out. Bill was pretty sure I had the belt too tight and maybe I did. However replacing the seal was no problem and he sent me a seal no charge. A fifteen minute job at most. It didnt quit working it just started leaking a bit. I bought a spare belt at Napa and have not needed it. I have about 70k on it so far. Would I do it again. Yes I think I would in fact I would do it sooner. There are really only two things that can go wrong with the pump and that is break the belt or the seal go out. My spare belt was like $6 from napa and I do not know what the seal cost as he sent it to me for free but I cant believe it would be more than a few bucks at most.

The seal is approx. $2.

Stay tuned I am working on another buy for the line kit and machined parts, trying to get the mechanical price for the same as the electrics on the market.

Absolutely THE best way to get fuel to the VP44. Not only the pump itself, but the concept of the bypass valve right at the inlet to the VP44 where you can mechanically set the VP44 inlet psi you want regardless of the pump output psi. I set my idle (800 rpm) at 13. 5 psi and my 2k rpm is 16 psi.

Personally even if I went with a electric pump I would have the RASP bypass valve on that too. Ultra simple, ultra EFFECTIVE.

I have had mine about1 1/2 years and it runs perfect. I plumbed the bypass back to the fuel tank vent line and recycle the entire tank through the fuel filter about every hour.

CLEAN, NO free water, correct psi, good volume fuel.

Even has the lp as a backup IF something should ever happen.

A friend of mine in NJ has one on his '02 ISB. The harmonic balanceer/pulley bolts backed out after ~1yr and did some damage. I think the newer kits include longer bolts and the instructions advise you to put Locktite on 'em.

Other than that, he likes the setup a lot.

I'd definitely consider running one on the Jeep if the price compared to what I spent on the 150gph FASS... Since the engine didn't come with a fuel filter or lift pump, I'd have to search for a small electric lift pump (Walbro) to prime the system when the engine isn't running, but that's no big deal. That's the reason I went with the FASS - filtration and pump all in one setup.
