Absolutely THE best way to get fuel to the VP44. Not only the pump itself, but the concept of the bypass valve right at the inlet to the VP44 where you can mechanically set the VP44 inlet psi you want regardless of the pump output psi. I set my idle (800 rpm) at 13. 5 psi and my 2k rpm is 16 psi.
Personally even if I went with a electric pump I would have the RASP bypass valve on that too. Ultra simple, ultra EFFECTIVE.
I have had mine about1 1/2 years and it runs perfect. I plumbed the bypass back to the fuel tank vent line and recycle the entire tank through the fuel filter about every hour.
CLEAN, NO free water, correct psi, good volume fuel.
Even has the lp as a backup IF something should ever happen.
