I,m giving the RASP fuel system a hard look to alleviate my ongoing fuel lift pump problems. Other than the high purchase price I think it might fix the $150. 00 ( now$175. 00) every 15,000 mile problem. BUT I will lose the fuel heater of the stock unit when iits not being used. which I think I need here in Alaska to make this truck function in the cold weather. Has anybody dealt with this problem yet and what is the answer? Also it is claimed by the electric pump people that the truck will be more engine quiet as the air will be reduced but not for the mechanical pump I hope. I don,t want it to sound like the new trucks or the Chevys and Fords. I lke the Cummins clatter. Thanks for input.

You WILL NOT lose your fuel heater/water in fuel/stock filter function. The RASP tees into the stock LP/filter, the LP is used for priming after a filter change. That's why I settled on the RASP, (when I finally get it in 2 weeks) I wanted to keep all that stuff. Talk to Olee Poole about it, he is the man on these. www.powerbypoole.com :D

The fuel heater is built into the fuel filter not the lift pump, so like Tom said you will not lose that functionality. The coldest it has been here so far this year was 5*F, but the RASP system worked flawlessly. I really can't say that there was any noticable change in noise on mine. The noise from the electric lift pump is gone of course, but other then that no change in noise. Try it you'll like it!

Olee put mine in for me and I'm very happy with it. Heats and clatters with solid fuel pressure to boot!!!

This is an upgrade that I'm definitely going to schedule with Olee. Just have to get the cash together after ordering a DOR bumper. Damn deer down here are thicker than flies in the summer!
