I have read a lot of older threads on here talking about several different ways to fix the lift pump problems. If money were not an issue (of course it is) is the RASP still the way to go or has something better come out? Thanks.

Todd...

Please create your truck profile. It'll help other's help you.

I've followed literally thousands of posts on LP options over the past four years. I have ~15K on my RASP. I don't read anymore LP posts unless it's RASP related. Don't think I need to.

The rasp is by far the best system out there. You will also have to pay for it because it is the best. It is your decision, but I don't see anyway this system would fail.

DTT is now building a line kit to help with the installation. For those interested feel free to give me a call at 866-504-4002. I should also say thanks to IdahoCTD for helping witht the kit.

The RASP is still on top. The line kit looks to be working out great also Thanks BTarbert

for input. I have put a lot of time in to the line kits and appreciate all purchases. I would be gald to help anyone with there plumbing needs!

I currently have the FASS installed mainly due to the price. I definitely would have wanted the RASP system but would have also needed some one to install it for me making the total price way beyond what I could afford.

IMHO,, the RASP is the best system available!

The RASP is one fine system. My LP does not see anymore action even at start up. I occassionally flip the HOPS switch just to see if it is still alive. Olee's fuel lines are great, he put it all in himself. I've read the horror stories of people going through 5 plus LPs. For that cost you can have a RASP and put it all behind you. No it does not suck the air out of the fuel but it does not blow air/fuel at you if you fuel idling. I've had a FASS in a '99. Enough debates on this stuff.

No, But you can refuel with the truck running. I hate when i have a truck here working on it go to put fuel in and it blow fuel back at you. Then you have to shut the truck off and start refueling again. rmrc you are not to far from me if you need a RASP we can work something out. If you can find a few guys that would like a rasp kit get them together we work the price out! Install not to bad

If $$ is no consideration I think the RASP is the most reliable pump out there. I would ditch the OEM filter housing and use a nice Racor or something with a two stage setup like the FASS. Water seperator and 2 gpm filter. Can get by without it but I prefer the piece of mind this setup affords. My only real problem with the Rasp is the fuel line issue. I like to keep my fuel lines tucked in and protected by the frame. Minor issue. If it was me I would measure up the lines I needed and order nice crimped lines with all AN type fittings. Again push locs will work fine but I have become obsessed with the fuel system. If the restriction from the tank is removed I am very comfortable with the FASS system as long as top notch wiring harness is used. There have been some issues with this system but as far as I can tell they are being worked out and the system is becoming more reliable every day. I am very happy with mine and know that I fixed the wiring I am confident it will serve a long and trouble free life.

In summary, if $$ is no object the RASP is tough to beat. FASS and Airdog are high quality solutions as well. Jury is out on the air removal in my mind.

As for the not being able to fuel the truck with it running that has been taken care of. I and many others fuel our trucks with them running and use a FASS.

I have tested the push lok hose and fitting. just playing around 750psi no problem 1,500 they went south!

They have a 300psi working pressure.

Agreed they work fine. In fact I am running them for now, wil order new lines this summer. Its just thst they are a step down from the crimped hose available and the man said money was no object. :-laf Actuallt they are not that expensive just less convienant. ;) Now the braided SShose I run on the suction side is expensive. For what its worth to do the job right you need to run hose rated for suction on the supply side or risk collapsing a hose down the line. Look at your hose, if it is only rated in pressure it is not meant to be used on the supply side of a pump. We have collapsed plenty of hose on gensets when the wrong stuff is installed by mistake. I am not positive but I don't think any hose that works with push loks is rated for suction.

Just food for thought. To clarify, I am really just talking about the supply side of the LP not the VP
