I am fixing to bring the truck in for what appears now to be a dash rattle on the passenger side!

Is it reasonable to expect them to find it? I have padded all the door lock knobs. I originally thought it was in the passenger side door and could not get it to stop. I don't have anyone who can drive a 6speed so until today I finally admitted I couldn't find it and begged my wife to listen to where it is coming from. It is the dash, ans I have armor-alled all the seams and cleaned out the glove box. I can't figure it out. If they can't find it I will seriously, consider getting rid of it. BTW I bought this truck new in June and it has a hair under 12k miles.

HA!! good luck. i had hell with them when i took the truck in. now i just turn the radio up...

i hope they fix it for ya.

If you take it in be sure to go for a ride with someone when you drop it off. That way they will know exactly what you are hearing. As for the Armorall, it makes plastic parts squeak if they are in contact with each other. Also be sure to clean out the door pockets and glove box so there is nothing else that might be assumed is making noise.

I just pulled the glove box OUT completely!

I will try some process of elimination on my own. It is either gonna stop the noise or make it louder!

the noise was still there with the glove box out! I pulled out the jack and willsee if it still happens!

I searched here DTR, and cumminsforum for dash rattles and it appears the jack can resonate making you think it is the dash! We shall see!

I have the same issue, passenger side behind glove box rattles during idle. If you find out what it is, I'll split the cost to fix it! I have a feeling the techs at the dealership probably would make the whole dash rattle if I let them go treasure hunting. Good Luck.

UPDATE!

It wasn't the jack, it wasn't the glovebox.

So, I pulled the dash top off and silicon sprayed it. The only problem is the only silicon based spray I could find kinda discolored the inside of the dash so I was very sparse when applying it. I am doubtful this will work. I think it is off to the dealer on Wednesday.
