I bought a beater 89 auto with dead turbo, cause I had one left over from upgrading another first gen. Got her running and after a few minutes noticed wetness at turbo outlet/exhaust downpipe. Thought maybe turbo oil return was plugged and blew seal - not. Have determined wetness is diesel fuel, not motor oil. Motor runs a little rough; loosening injectors one at a time makes tiny difference so figure injectors probably needed. The truck belonged to a roofing company and was not babied at all. I just thought I'd collect ideas before tackling it in the morning. My guess is perhaps broken injector not atomizing and that cylinder(s) passing fuel. Any other ideas as to why raw fuel in exhaust. I have no guess as to what the mileage is. Engine oil is also a quart over fulll, and seems thin - perhaps making oil? Ideas on a cause for that - stuck fuel pin, perhaps?
Ideas welcome. Thanks in advance!
