rumors I here are slow sales on the mega cab with the hint of dropping the truck. but heck rumors inhouse say we still are in the running for the 6spd auto. maybe its a differant 6 spd rear driver. I am told the 68rfe is a go , but the trans is not HD so it is a hemi trans basically.

Whaaaat???

Please elaborate on transmission jive.

Listening to O. O. I. D. A. on xm channel 171 - The cost of "big truck" motors will be $7-10,000 more due to all the new epa garbage. How much will this effect the cost of our trucks?

I've heard the same number tossed around and it will affect our trucks as well... . and with the additional stuff they're going to eventually require, it will even be more.....

Thats why I think the big OTR boys are buying up all the 05/06's they can get their hands on right now... Also demand for the older trucks is going outta sight. Just the particulate filter alone is a MAJOR cost as it is an "emissions" item that has to last/be warranted for a 100,000 miles. The enviro-nazis have essentially "killed" the diesel motor as we now know it... . I talked to a Cummins rep awhile back and he stated that the Dodge motors were essentially designed with 4 rebuilds with about 250,000 miles between rebuilds. Thats about 1,000,000 miles. IF I can keep the Dodge part patched up and running, I'll keep this truck till there is nothing left of that Cummins..... they can take all that environmental crap and stick up their butts..... way up. Geez, I wish they'd just leave us to heck alone.....

68ref is a replacement or optional light duty trans. similar to the 58rfe now in the 1/2 ton trucks. rumor inhouse is we are "in the running" for a heavy duty 6 spd to replace the 48 re.

No one's gonna jump nuthin unless DC comes out with a regular size crewcab (QuadCab) long bed.

You are so right! I bought this truck because of the 6. 0 trouble, but my family wanted the larger cab of the Ford. We are very happy with this truck and right now the kids can handle the back seat, but if Ford fixes it motor trouble and Dodge doesn't get the message on a Crew (not mega useless) Cab, then the 08' or 09' replacement may be a Ford. Come on Dodge, get the message!
