Pulled trailer today. . still can't exceed 70 mph. Only choice is to start Bombing. Being this truck is an auto I don't want to get real radical and hurt the transmission. After reading all the posts here I thought I would go with EZ and 275s. Has anyone with this same problem done this with success? Truck has 3500 miles. . dealer IS willing to work with me! Need feedback.

Had mine done too. I think it helped alot driveing empy it livened it up at highway speeds. Put it this way, I drove into a good head wind last night with mostly 1# fuel, found out why they put a 120 mph speedo in the thing... . #ad

Buttugly, did your dealer say anything about a TSB # 18-015-000 or 18-024-000. I have read previous threads that mentioned those number for service bulletin for a the lack of power problem.

What rearend do have & what weight is your trailer. As you can see by my sig i have the 4. 10 axle & had no problem exceeding 70 mph towing my chipper which weighs 7500 lbs, or my airstream which is only 4800lbs. But it pulls a whole lot better now i have the 275,s & EZ & I get better mileage when towing, but not empty strangely enough . Could it be my lead boot?

Ask the dealer for the latest TOWING reflash. I would get it running right before adding any goodies. BTW,with as little miles as you have on there,I would bet it's not broke in.

I have 3:54s. . pull 4500 enclosed V nose snowmobile trailer. . runs great empty. . when it shifts to OD at abuot 70 it dies!

Since you can't seen to get the dealer to admit that there is a problem, take it to cummins. You will have to pay for cummins to diagnose it, but at least you'll know. I just pulled an 8700lb trailer this weekend and my truck (which is supposed to have less power than yours) will pull at 85-90. At that speed I got scared and let up #ad
. The truck didn't seem to care that there was a trailer back there, it just took longer to get to speed.

Don't do anything to the truck to increase it's power until you are getting the power that you should with it stock.

Good luck,
Mike
