I'm getting ready to re-install my Scott II for the summer. Last fall when I took it apart for cleaning I found that the flange that the turbo intake hose attaches to the filter with was split all the way through, which concerned me to say the least. Both AFE, City Diesel and Scotty (?) all said it was the first case like that so I am hoping that it was a fluke with the filter. AFE replaced it for free.
I was wondering if when I re-install this year, with a new AFE filter if it would bad for the filter and/or hose if I shot a quick spray of silicon lube on the flange to make it easier to get the hose onto the filter, so there would be less stress on the flange when pushing the hose onto the flange of the filter.
Any ideas would be helpful.
Thanks
