I have to make a pilgrimage back to the dealer about my driveline noise issue. Getting noisier at 46,000mi, I made note of it at 27,000mi and at 34,000mi, just before the warranty ran out. Anyhow, I want to put the stock injectors back in (KEEP THE FUSS DOWN AT THE DEALER). Can I reuse the copper washers that are at the nozzle end of the injector? I will put back the DDIIs after this whole thing gets settled

Yeah, unless you binged any of them up they should be fine.

It's your business of course, but I'd leave the present injectors in my motor if I went to the dealer for a non engine related problem. It's unlikely that the dealer would notice them if there's no other reason to investigate and there's always a chance that some sort of giveaway damage might occurr while changing them out.

I am on the opposite side of the fence on this one. Bigger injectors=higher engine performance than stock=source of drive line problem. Stea... Dealer has seen enough, here is your bill. They probably won't care if you put them in after the problem started, it made it worse.

Of course you could always get some very ignorant techs working on it, and they won't notice a thing.

It's probably a good idea to change them back. Driveline noise sounds like a test drive to me. Bigger injectors will most likely be noticed. Great excuse for the noise from the dealers POV.

Can't tell what kind of trans you have, but the 5 speed will make noise. The more power, the more noise it will make. Especially in 4th gear at lower RPM.

See if the noise don't go away when you pull the injectors.

TowPro, I have an automatic and I've been DTT'ed. Dtt looked the whole inside of the trands and OD section and said that there wasn't anything in the trans making that noise.

I have the one piece aluminum driveline and it has made some noise for 20,000mi. I replaced both U-joints and no relief. The service writer heard it the last time I took it in and well, gee wiz... The mechanic couldn't hear it!! I'm not leaving untill they acknowledge the noise and give me some satisfaction in the way of a new drive shaft! I didn't do any mods untill 4,000 mi ago. My bumper to bumper ran out at 36,000mi. I'm at 46,000mi now.
