Reactor Power Cell

I was looking at my new Summit catalog and noticed that they carry this Reactor Power Cell which can deliver 1500 amps for 8 seconds. It is a sealed lead acid battery, lasts 3 to 5 times longer than stock and can be deep cycled hundreds of times. Has anyone used this battery to replace both of ours? The cost is less than 200 bills.

It looks to me to be a regular battery. It used in the F-117 stealth fighter.

This sounds a little bit like the battery in the Accessories column in the latest (Sept/Oct 2002) Truck Trend on page 68.



It is an Odyssey 1700 Dry Cell from mrbobsdistributing.com. It provides 1700 CCA for 5 seconds.



I think it would allow only one battery to be used even in the winter. I would like to know if any one has tried this and how it compares to two Optima red tops. I will be in the market for new batteries this fall. I would like to have the extra space under the hood by getting rid of the passenger side battery.

Other folks have had seemingly good luck with the similarly constructed Odyssey batteries. Some folks have even been able to get by with one battery!
