Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Read Engine Codes in Calgary- Help?

Hi all.



I have had the check engine light re-appear on a few occassions now. More than what I'm comfortable with. I'd like to know what the codes are but since my truck is a mid '99 it needs to be read with a scan tool.



Short from buying a scanner, anyone know where I can take it near where I live in Calgary, AB to get it read?

If you have Autozone stores there, they can scan it.

Unfortunately, there are no Autozone stores up here.



I'd hate to have to take it to the stealership.

there's cummins in the southeast off of barlow trail, or even crappy(cdn) tire if you just want the codes read.

You can also try GCL fuel systems. Also the dealer in Airdre is very good with diesels.

Use you Odometer as a Reader

Try turning the Ignition switch from "Off" to "On" 3 times without starting the engine. The codes should flash in your Odometer window. It should do the (P)cu codes first, then flash Pdone. then the (E)cu codes should be displayed.

Autovalue

Take it to Autovalue on 17ave and 37st SW,by the Esso,kitty corner to westbrook mall,they can read you codes as well as erace them for you. Bin there done that ---good luck. There may be more around town or closer to you,depending on where you live ,but phone first if you try another location,not all have the scanner/reader. DW
