Unbelievable!!

rosie odonnol has a gun survey

well i finallaly bit the bullet and purchased a project car! its a 1990 porsche 944s which i will be installing a 1995 corvette LT1 350 engine in place of the stock 4 banger. the car has 90,000 miles and is in excellent condition. there is a conversion kit available from http://www.renegadehybrids.com i plan to gather parts and research (read, read, read) for aproximatley 6 months. when i have the transplant engine, conversion kit, and other misc parts on hand ( i can still be putting around in the 4 banger) i will gut the engine compartment and get started. from that point it should take me 6-8 weeks to have the car driveable again. then several more weeks, months or years to complete the project. (haha) the preliminary cost looks to be in the 5-6k range which includes everything. if anyone has experience in swapping an LT1 engine into a hot rod etc. . and might have any encouraging (or discouraging) comments please let me know. i cant wait to get started on the PORSCHEVY!

Stuffed a 912 Porsche engine into a 57VW bug once. Not quite the same, but still lots of fun when its finally completed. Good luck. #ad

Ummmm... . a simple question... I think it's fair... why put a V8 chevy motor in it? If you wanna drag race, buy a Chevelle... if you wanna stop and turn, keep the motor that's in it. A killer combo is to plug in an S2 3. 0 motor... not a Corvette or Mustang that will touch it! Got the chance to race an S2 in a showroom-stock event at Sebring... that motor could consistently out-dragrace the American V8's out of the hairpin,. . lots of grunt!

i think the main reason i am doing it is for the challenge. also i've owned many 4 and 6 cyl imports and with my experience it would be very expensive to even come close to the power of a stock LT-1. i also feel the v8 will be much more reliable and definatly less costly to service. (porsche waterpump 150. 00, starter 250. 00, alternator 340. 00 etc. . etc. . thats parts only... )i only wanna open the hood to show it off!
i went to a corvette show yesterday and talked to a guy with a 95 LT-1 in a 62' corvette. it was awesome! he offered to let me take it for a spin but i had to pass. i didnt want to make the fever worse!! #ad
