biggest injectors?

Thanks again for the info, first start of the day I try to let it idle a couple minutes also. I have the double deep pan already. I would guess all the tight tc's would heat alittle more in traffic.

Dad was in the Marines and I was born at the Navel Hosp there. We moved a couple years later so I really don't know anything about Beaufort. (and it was 1950 so things wouldn't be the same anyway) but I want to make a trip there one day just to see it.

Thanks again

Tom

As far as drainback goes... . they all will do it if you leave it sit for long enough. Also, DTT modifies their VB's to pump in Park so you don't have to put it in Neutral to get the fluids to flow. I believe that other manufacturers do this also but since I don't know I can't comment.

As far as heat goes I drive in Seattle traffic everyday which is one of the worst in the country. I rarely see it above 150. My guage starts at 140 so most of the time the needle is sitting on the pin and doesn't register at all. In fact the highest I have ever seen my temps with the DTT trans was actually on the way home from DTT. I was lost in Vancouver BC with a trailer that weights around 6500 lbs. It was during rush hour traffic in downtown Vancouver and I was going from light to light... never got above 20 mph for a good 2 hours. Highest temp was 185... . nothing to sweat. :) See sig for mods.

My feeling is they're all good, the installer is what makes the difference. Choose the brand with the most competent installer that you feel comfortable with close by.

Bill,

Your bring up a vary important point here. I am lucky to live near James Northem, who has done trucks for KatDiesel, and Jim Fulmer. He will be doing mine as soon as he gets caught up, and finds some extra time. I have known him for over a year now, and think he is a great guy. I trust him completly with my truck, as I know he knows more about the transmission then I do. We have talked multiple times about which options are best, for my truck, and he never "downed" the compition once. Total professionalism on his part I think.

Like you say, choice installer is VERY important, just so happens that I live near a good one. If your local installer does not give you the kind of service YOU expect when prepairing to invest like this, then you need to concider that also. :)

Just something else to think about.

I have the DTT mods in my trans and I'm very happy with them. I have put a little over 45K on the trans since then and have had no problems. The trans does heat up alot in traffic in the summer. I have to drop into neutral if traffic isn't moving after about 10 minutes. I don't like the temp to go over 210. I have my sensor in the TC line so it will be hotter than those in the pan. A double deep mag-hytec pan ( I have regular ) and synthetic would probably help in the heat department. Good luck with your decision.

I have a DTT and I've driven a

ATS truck that is set up schweeeet.

I like the DTT, just because I like the firm shifts.

I know this may sound silly, but it reminds me of

how the muscle cars I've driven in the past shifted

and it seems to me the more positive the shift is, the less wear, instead of

"easing" into the shifts.

One thing is for sure, you can't go wrong with either, because

the stock Dodge transmission SUCKS!!!!!!

I forgot to say that there is a DTT installer in Sevierville, TN. That maybe a little closer for you.

My guess is that you are looking for a trans upgrade due to power upgrades... if this is not the case, ignore these comments.

If you are purchasing performance parts, why not contact your vendor? I know almost all vendors use the same parts in their trucks as they are going to sell to you. Chances are they have run them for quite a while. What are they running for a transmission?
