I'm a new member who posted this on a different thread, anyway, I'd like to

hear from someone who would recommend a dealer in California that gives the best discounts on a non-trade in purchase. I'm hoping to buy at invoice or at the most $500. 00 over invoice. Any help would be appreciated. I live in Atascadero, Ca.

If you are willing to Travel, I have connections in the fleet dept. at moss bros dodge here in San Bernardino, So cal... I got my truck at 1000 below dealer cost plus all the rebates.

I have purchased 2 CTD's from Dave Smith Mtr in Kellogg ID. I know it a long way from San Luis Co. but I saved about $5000 under what these rip off dealers want here in the bay area. Smiths sell at invoice minus any rebates in affect. I think its now $1000 and a farm bureau $500 if you go sign up with the SLC bureau. A 3500 will cost you about $500 more than a 2500 and all you get is ugly clearance lights. two extra leaf springs and maybe a tad thicker brake rotor. Good luck with your mission!

You can order a new truck from Dishman Dodge in Spokane for $1,000 under Dealer Invoice, and you still get the rebates! You have to talk to Butch and tell him Big Bob sent you in order to get the deal!

On my truck, Dishman beat Dave Smith by almost $500!

Here is his email address : -- email address removed --

His phone number is 800-457-6500.

Hope this helps!

99 3500 4X4 DRW ATS trans, with the 05 on order mines the DRW

When I was ready to buy in LA county when the 600 was first avaiable I was laughed out of 2 dealships when I told them I would not pay over invoice and still wanted the Dodge and Farm Bureau rebates deducted from that. I first spoke to the fleet manager (I never deal with the know nothing smiling idiot that greets you in the lot) who said "your yanking my chain right" I said no, I'm serious, to which he replied "we're willing to deal but I can't go that low". I showed him my quote from Dave Smith in Idaho, his jaw dropped so low I thought it would hit the desk. He called the sales manager, who called the general manager, who after giving me some raz mataz about how I'd be better of buying local advised me to plan my trip to Idaho, which I did.

The 600 is 50 state legal and OK for CA as long as you order with CARB emissions so we are no longer preclude from buying out of state. It won't relieve you from CA tax though.

Good luck

I paid 32500 for a 398XX sticker truck in Antioch. That was the out the door price. The fleet dept treated me right. Also got free fog lamps, trailer tow mirrors @ cost and a spare rear bumper (mine had a SMALL scratch. )

Hey; I also live in Atascadero, CA

I bought my truck from Jerry Reneau. I feel, I did not get a bad deal. However I would not use their service dept. I have had bad luck with them.

I just bought from DAVE SMITH

NOW I have to plan a quick trip to Kellogg Id. But it was the only place I found could find a 3500 4x4 SRW H pkg. with what I wanted and needed on it AND I had the NV5600 transmission Otherwise I would have waited till fuel prices got higher and the 06's started crowding the dealer lots. But I did not want to take a change on an unknown G56 and have to run at higher RPMs on the freeway.

Any tips on what to expect once I get to the dealership so far my plan it to take airporter to San Francisco and land at Spokane and get the shuttle to DAVE SMITHS. Do they provide champagne and Lunch

I don't know about the champagne, but when I bought my last truck from them they gave everyone a lunch on Saturday, everyone, customer or not.

I ordered my 04. 5 through Antioch Dodge also , Got hooked up with them through carsdirect. My $42,200 msrp cost me $34,400. which was $3,100 under dealer invoice including the $2,800 rebate. I thought that was pretty good at the time. The dealer up here in Petaluma wanted $1,700 over invoice including rebates. :-laf . They delivered my truck 7 weeks after I ordered it to my door at 8:30 am on a saturday morning. Oo.

Good luck , BTW the salesman I dealt with in Antioch was Roy.

Me too, dealers in my area (L. A. County) laughed out loud when I told them that I would not pay above invoice, this was on a future purchase of a 600, before they actually hit the showroom, things may have calmed down now that they've been out for a while. Would buy again from Smith, very nice people to deal with, good price, no pressure.

JamesMillerjr,

Might I recomment calling Jeff Hogan in Hickory, North Carolina at Steve White Motors, they paid for i way trip out, picked me up @ airport and gave me full tank of fuel and has been the very best dealer experience ever!!! Would definately buy there again. If you look on e-bay motors under dodge diesel trucks you can find them also. Good luck. I saved a little over $17k there.
