I am going to adjust my bands and change my trans. fluid. I have read several posts by other members and feel I am ready to do this. I would like to know if any of you know if I will need to obtain a C-3705 Adapter to adjust my front band? My Ram CTD is a 3500 Laramie SLT Short Box Quad Cab with a Mag-Hytek Double Deep Trans. Pan. If it is the concensus is yes, where can this tool be purchased? Is it available on line? If so, what is the website? Thanks in advance for your response(s).

I think its a torx bit don't remember the size. I know I didn't need anything special that wasn't in my tool chest. If you have a decent set of tools it should be there.

yep... like JB said, no really special tools, make sure you have a quality torque wrench.

If you have been experiencing any of the 1-2 hunting/shuddle shift issues you might consider replacing the governor pressure solenoid and sensor...

Thanks for the info. I do have a pretty goood clicker type inch pound torque wrench. I'll do a dry run tomorrow and let you know how it looks. By the way, where is the best place to buy ATF+4 at a decent price?? I looked at Advanced Auto and they wanted $7. 00 a quart for Castrol Brand. The stash that I have is Valvoline, but I would like to get about 4 more quarts to be sure I have enough.

Do all of the members pay $7. 00 per quart for ATF+4 Trans. fluid??? How about you, Mr. Cerberusium?? Do you really throw out 4-6 quarts at each trans fluid change at $7. 00 per quart??? If so, I guess I will have to do the same.

When adjusting band Remember INCH pounds and Not ft. Pounds! I have seen other posts about this and it will cause you a lot more work. :-laf

when i did mine last summer, i used the Supertech ATF4 from wal mart. it was 4. 27 a quart. it has got to be the exact same stuff as the other brands, the color and odor is identical. you pay for the name with the expensive stuff.

I buy the Napa brand ATF+4. It is rebottled Valvoline ATF+4. ATF+4 will not be licensed by Chrysler if it is not a Group III synthetic. Buying a boutique (Group IV or Group V synthetic) ATF+4 is a waste of money IMO because of the 48RE fluid change interval.

Here is the Chrysler QA link for approved ATF+4. http://www.centerforqa.com/licensedatf4brands.html
