If it makes ya feel any better I've got 320 miles on the rebuilt 5600 that went in on Thurs, this is only Sat. This morning I was having trouble getting it into 4th w/o grinding. Beat the crap out of it for a while using adrenaline to help me shift. I didn't break anything but I think I would have felt better if I had. Finally got to the point where it would not grind more often than it would. I'm gonna cool off a bit before I try it anymore.

320 miles and already regretting not trading trucks.

Yeah, Im startin to think a Durason Allimax looks good. Havnt had any good luck with the past 2 trucks. Looks like ball-joints goin south too. My tires are startin to wear good on the inside. Not to mention the grinding gear box, that everyone else seems to think is bulletproof. 58,000 miles mind you.

Ok so I ditched my auto in favor of the 6 speed. Hated my auto, thought stick was the only way to go. When I test drove the truck (55,000 miles) no problems. Ive only put about 3,000 miles on it since the end of May. when shifting from 2nd to 3rd (especially when trans is cold) it will just slip right into 3rd, grinding as it goes in. Like it never hits synchro. When it finally warms up, sometimes it will be like pushing your hand through concrete, so hard to get it to go in. Other times it will shift fine. I have to get it going fast in 2nd so I have enough time to play around and shift into 3rd without grinding the gears. Its really starting to bother me. Dont know if others have experienced this. Will my 7 year 70,000 powertrain cover this??

It would seem to me that your power mods would void any and all drivetrain warrentees. Good luck.

It's encouraging to hear that the NV5600 is available under warranty. I would take a G56 replacement if it was offered to me though.

I thank Valvoline has the best oil. We have over 600. 000 miles on are 89 dodge diesel it has only had valvoline oil. With howes diesel additives for winter starting. Replaced injectors tips at 500. 000 miles .
