For anyone interested, here is a comparison of real oil pressure readings vs. the calculated value the truck shows.

These are some oil pressure readings taken from my Edge Insight with a pressure sensor installed in the oil filter housing. I'm running 5W40 Synthetic.



COLD

Idle 62 psi real vs. 49 psi calc

High Idle 67 psi real vs 51 psi calc



COOLANT AT 123*

Idle 40 psi real vs. 45 calc



NORMAL OPERATING TEMPS GOING DOWN THE HIGHWAY

1250 rpm 34 psi real vs. 42 psi calc

1450 rpm 42 psi real vs. 47 psi calc

1750 rpm 52 psi real vs. 47 psi calc

1850 rpm 54 psi real vs. 47 psi calc

2150 rpm 59 psi real vs. 48 psi calc



Idle @ operating temp

16 psi real vs. 29 psi calc
 
Nice. Thank you. I really wish the gauges read actual instead of whatever it is they do. Might as well go back to idiot lights.
