Thinking of selling my truck while it still has some value. Don't have any idea as to value. I've noticed on the classified ads in the Register that trucks like mine are asking high dollars.
My truck is a 2006, 2500, 4x4, Cummings, SLT Big Horn, with 40,000 miles, Atlantic Blue color, Mint Condition-no dents or scratches. Seat covers from day one. Completely stock. Garage kept. Exhaust break. No heavy towing.
Any help on placing a value on this truck would be appreciated. Thank you, Gary Merkel. 1-209-852-9783.

Unfortunately the "Cummings" are a cheap Chinese knock-off and have no value what so ever.
;)

In all fairness that's as few spell check software that will automatically change Cummins to Cummings. It might not be the poster fault. To the original post. The low miles are a big plus, if it where a manual trans I know some like yours have sold for $30,000. The automatics are not in high demand and I don't think you will get close to that. I personally think, with the low miles, you should get around $25,000. But it all depends on finding a buyer that wants YOUR truck.

Its also about getting your ad distributed around for better exposure. Aside from local advertising I'd list it in a few regional classifieds like truck trader that covers a much larger demographic than the local listings.

I was taught if I didn't have something constructive to say to keep my mouth shut! I worked forty years as a lineman and put up with a lot of jerks. I guess they are everywhere!

It was a joke (notice the blinking smiley) but I guess you missed that point.
Instead you resort to name calling and alienation.
Good luck selling your truck.

Its worth as much as someone is willing to pay, Id bet the right person would pay low 30's with that low of miles. The hard part is finding the right buyer.

For comparison, recently here in San Diego an '05 qclb, auto 4wd 3500 SLT,stocker sold for $28K. It had 37K on it and was a one owner with records. It lasted one day on Craigslist.

Just returned from a ram dealer in modesto. They had what I wanted. They didn't seem to want to sell it. I hate doing this!

Value is whatever you and the buyer agree too when it is sold.

A truck like your out here in Central PA would easily bring 30-35K easily and would not sit on any lot for a long period of time at all.The daily driver I just bought to replace my 2003 that had 396k on it is a 2007.5 6.7 that had 31,000 original 1 owner miles on it when I bought it right before labor Day weekend this year.I paid 30k for this truck and I know I got it for about 5-7k below what it should have brought.

Trading at any dealership will NEVER bring you what you want or think your rides true worth is,during a trade you will end up on the loosing end all the time.

Put your truck on the local valley Craigslist for $26-30+k, accept any reasonable offer. Easy. Bet you have no problem finding a buyer with cash ASAP. Good luck selling the old and buying the new.

I don't know if you've already sold your truck or not, but I think it's worth in the low $30K area. In Sept of 2013, I sold my immaculate truck (see sig) for $32K WITHOUT advertising it. It was a word of mouth deal. I keep wondering if I could've got more by advertising it. Super clean, Cummins/Rams are very hard to come by. Mine was still like new. I think if I was you, I'd ask $34K for it, and see what happens. You can always lower the price if need be, but I wouldn't leave any money on the table. People want 5.9's!
