My new ram only had the stock shift knob on 2 days before I changed it. go to www.fatknobs.com they are made for late model mustangs, but will custom tap the threads for an extra $5

my size, 02 Ram 6- speed is 10MM x 1. 5 (they come in black or white)

It sure feels good in the hand compared to the stock wimpy one, if you know what I mean.

I am not affiliated with, nor do I profit from this PERSONAL endorsement

I had a fat knob once, Doctor gave a shot and cleared it right up :p . Just kidding, whatever floats your boat. I personally like the look and feel of the Eaton Fuller. Most anything is an improvement of the OEM IMHO.

I have had several different shifter knobs on my truck, and the Fat Knob is by far the best yet. Unlike the other (all metal) it doesn't get nearly as cold in the winter. I'm thinking about getting another couple for the tractor...

Good find emarsh :)

Waiting for someone to answer Briar's question too.

I like the seller already:

"2. In the case of a cross-threaded FatKnob™, we will provide you with a $10. 00 credit toward a replacement (delivered cost will be $29. 50 for a Mustang knob or $34. 50 for custom sizes). You must return the cross-threaded knob for the $10. 00 credit. "

Now if we had a short-throw shifter to mount it on... .

Better and Cheaper Shift Knob

Here's what I did. I've got a 96 Rammer 5 speed. I took the stock shift knob off and replaced it with a Hurst T handle. I had to hone out the hole of the handle with a dremel to fit the original nut to make it fit flush. I used J-B Weld in the hole to seal the nut in place. (Let dry for 24 hrs) I like the feel of the handle and it reminds me of the good old days when we used to power shift ... but I don't do that anymore... yeah, right.

Silver Streak:D :D :D

Got mine, I love it. It puts a grin on my face, and on the face of anyone that sees it. Don't really know why. Maybe because it's kind of comical looking, not the usual boring factory shifter. My boy borrowed the truck for a hot date with a French exchange student, a girl he goes to school with. She couldn't keep her hands off his shifter. :D Maybe I should ground him before he gets in trouble and I can ship his butt off to the Naval Academy.

And now for something completely different!!

Flame Balls. Tons of different types on their website. I haven't contacted them about the shifter yet but I'd imagine if they manufacture them, they could adapt them to fit our trucks.

You gotta admit, they look pretty cool

I want a fatknob. Would the same one that fits the 02 like Emarsh has fit my 01? We both have the 6spd. When I get an answer I will prollly order one.

The thread pattern appears to be the same, 5 spd. or 6 spd. , so, I assume the difference between years wouldn't matter.

Nobody answered my question on here about thread size on a 5 spd. so I went ahead and ordered anyway. And it fit.
