I hit an Axis buck (south of bandera tx) so hard it rocked my replacement bumper almost back onto my hood, and knocked some of my suspension parts out of whack. By the time I got home the gear shifter is vibrating pretty hard and when I push in on the clutch it made a wierd roaring sound while traveling down the road. The truck is idleing rougher too. Flywheel you think?

Well the adjuster will look it this week I hope. Ive had 3 dodges (for myself) and I have hit deer with all three. This is getting old!!#@$%!

Sucks man,my wifes uncle hit one with his d-max---9000. 00 plus to repair---maybe your in line for a tougher front end---Road Armor/Buckstop bumpers may help----mine are on the way front/rear because i"v had 3 close calls going back and forth to our place at the lake last year---its only a matter of time.

Bumper is still in perfect shape. I just had to pull it back into place. I guess I will have to tack weld it into place.

Htting a 130lb white tail has nothing on a 250lb axis deer.

I think radiator, or shroud, may be pushed into fan. Any missing blades? That would cause the vibration. I don't think you got even close to damaging the clutch. You would not have survived a shock strong enough to bust the flywheel. At least you don't mention having popped the air bags.

Don't drive with missing blades. It'll take out your fan coupling and water pump real fast.

Does it drive straight?

Forgive me if I'm dumb, but what is an Axis deer? I've heard of Mule deer, are they the same? Any pictures?

Thanks,

Dan

Correct me if I'm wrong, but axis are similar in size to mule deer, but their reddish in color with spots(picture a BIG fawn):-laf Their rack is similar in shape to an elk. Also, I've seen the damage a whitetail will do, so I can imagine what something another 100 lbs heavier would do.

PS. Axis are actually nonnative and where intoduced as an exotic species for hunting.
