Rear air suspension issues ?

2022 3500 ho aisin 33k. Loaded my 2900 truck camper to haul away to trade in on new 24 ft travel trailer a couple days ago. Yesterday I drove it a-crossed town to run an errand. The air suspension light came on. Which has been normal in the passed but it goes away very soon. Well this time it didn’t. So I stopped truck pushed button did a restart still on. Not normal at all. A couple miles later it went out . So everything’s ok but when I get to the store I open the door. Very strong electrical like burning smell like hot tar .No not a regen . Truck was not running opened the hood. When I came out of the store smell was gone?No codes. Did the air suspension cook . What happened?

Isn't that light to show you are in Alternate Ride height?

The alternate ride height switch light? When you first turn the truck on for a few seconds?

We need you to be a lot more specific.

Check your batteries. A bad battery will make all kind of things go stupid

If the light doesn’t go away you’re in alternate ride height. Was alternate ride height displayed on the dash?

Any stored messages on the EVIC?

Are you sure the truck wasn’t in a regen?

No messages all normal now I think drove it again today. Nothing which is good

What happens if you press the alternate ride height button?

I get the display on the dash. Cant be moving of course. Light on the switch comes on I hear a hissing motor sound. Some sometimes it moves the truck up or down but very little. Some times it does the adjustment by it self as in loading a 3000 lbs camper. I think all is normal. The burning smell is what had me really distracted and worried as in the motor stuck on or something. My truck does not go up or down very much . Not really very noticeable.
